To All Our Supporters

Thanks to you, New Eyes helped 8,090 children and adults in need in the United States and over 200,000 individuals living in poverty across the world to see clearly in our 2016-17 fiscal year.
You've changed so many  lives.

Because of you:
- Jessie in Oklahoma  found a new job as a welding apprentice.
- Terrell improved his grades and behavior in his 4th grade class in New Jersey.
- Gerald in Virginia can use the bus  to reach his local senior center.
- Roseline rebuilt her craft business in Haiti after the hurricane.

And there are thousands of other stories of improved lives because of your support.

This report highlights how you have made deep impacts on the lives of the needy in the last year. It's a testament to you and your efforts to improve lives through the critical yet simple tool of eyeglasses.   Thank you for all you have done and continue to do to spread clear vision here in the U.S. and throughout the world.

Used Glasses: Your Impact Across the World

Thank you on behalf of the people of Kenya. Your partnership offered new eyes to the poor and underserved of Rural Kisumu county.  Of note, we encountered lots of school children with vision problems who for years were barely able to read the blackboard and never had a vision exam at teen ages.

Thank you for providing me the opportunity to help people raise their standard of living. Being able to see what is around us makes life better, and a simple gift of glasses is an easy way to make a difference in someone's life. This year, I traveled to Laos, in the south in Savanakhet province. I took two hundred pairs of reading glasses that were distributed to individuals, village elders, temples and a hospital. This is a poor farming region and the glasses were a welcome gift. Thanks for your service.

We thank you for the eye glasses which allowed the eyedoctors to provide care for the poor in Lascahobas, Haiti. The people of the community of Lascahobas and its environment will be eternally grateful to New Eyes for the Needy.
- Estelle Dubuisson, President, Friends of the Children of Lascahobas, Haiti Inc.

VOLUNTEERS.......make it possible

Since 1932, volunteers have been an integral part of New Eyes. They are exceptional in their dedication, enthusiasm and energy and come from all walks of life: retirees, Boy and Girl Scouts, working adults, high school students, civic and corporate groups and more. Some even meet, fall in love and get married (see Carol and Dave, below center)! They fundraise, sponsor used glasses collection drives, answer emails and phones, sort and classify used glasses, acknowledge donations, manage our Fabulous Finds thrift store and more. Thanks to their time and talents, New Eyes can accomplish all that it does year in and year out!

Rockin' for New Eyes 2016

We hosted our 4th Annual Rockin' for New Eyes concert at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square raising over $200,000! Thanks to the many performers and generous sponsors who hail from the optical industry, we had a fun and music-filled evening with proceeds going to provide new eyeglasses to individuals in need in the United States.

Kids Rock for Vision 2016

Celebrating its 9th year, Kids Rock for Vision was another night of rock music success, this time performed by incredibly talented local teen musicians. Since its inception in 2009, Kids Rock has raised $60,000 to provide new glasses to needy children living  in the United States.  Many thanks to the teen singers and musicians and to School of Rock Chatham for their continued support and sponsorship of this great event.
