New Eyes derives its revenues from contributions, grants, bequests, special events, investment income and the sale of donated metal, jewelry and giftware.
New Eyes follows generally accepted accounting principles and maintains a system of internal controls that allows for the highest reliability and accuracy of all financial reports and underlying books and records.
The annual budget is balanced. This provides maximum program benefits, the purchase of eyeglasses for poor children and adults in the United States and the distribution of donated eyeglasses throughout the world.
Independently-audited financial statements and explanatory notes fairly present the assets, liabilities and net assets arising from all transactions.
This organization follows conservative investment practices and employees a spending policy which provides for a portion of the investment income and appreciation to be expended each year. The spending policy allows for 100% of every individual donation to New Eyes to directly benefit the eyeglass program.
